What is a Carding Tool?

A carding tool for dogs is a grooming device specifically designed to remove loose, dead, or shedding fur from a dog's coat. Here are the key features and uses of a carding tool:

Did You Know?

A dog’s coat as 4 main stages of growth! Anagen, Catagen, Telogen, and Exogen. The coat of a dog varies during its life. Coats go through many cycles that are genetically determined. The environment, health, and diet may also have an impact. The four primary phases of coat development are listed below:

  1. The active growth phase of your dog's coat, known as anagen, is when it is continuously developing. Genetics dictates this; some breeds have short coats, while others have long, straight, or curly coats. Some can keep growing for a year or three weeks at a time.

  2. When the coat reaches its maximal length and ceases to develop actively, it is said to be in catagen.

  3. The coat goes into telogen, or dormancy. It is still in the follicle after reaching its maximum length and staying connected, but it is no longer growing.

  4. When a hair reaches the end of its life cycle, it is called exogen. At some point, every hair experiences this. The hair follicle sheds its hair during the exogen stage, resuming the anagen phase.
